Welcome
Short and long-term psychotherapy for adults
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy is a unique space where you can speak freely about thoughts and feelings you might not ordinarily share with others, in ways that aren’t always possible in everyday relationships.
Many people I work with describe feeling lonely, disconnected, anxious, depressed, emotionally overwhelmed, or like they don’t belong. Therapy can help uncover the underlying reasons, recognising that our internal world, past experiences, society and culture all play a role.
Background
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in Information Technology, an industry that shows how high pressure, and impersonal environments can wear us down. Finding my way into psychotherapy gave me purpose, and a passion for supporting others. While your journey will be different, my experiences help me recognise how unsettling facing life’s uncertainties can be.
Qualifications: Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy Studies (AUT), Registered with Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ)
Approach
I work primarily from a relational and psychodynamic perspective, and adapt other approaches that meet your needs. This means I pay attention not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to how past experiences shape your emotions, relationships, and sense of self. You can expect a collaborative, compassionate space, where emotions are welcomed.
I support clients with a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to: Loneliness, Anxiety, Breakups, Depression, Emotional Instability, Trauma, Abuse, Grief & Loss, Identity, Neurodiversity, Panic Attacks, Personal Development, Illness, Self Esteem, Stress, Toxic Shame, Life change, Workplace issues. I am also passionate about working with adults who have experienced relational trauma in childhood and intimate relationships.
