MICHELLE BLYDE PSYCHOTHERAPIST
adult Psychotherapy IN ALBANY AND GREENHITHE Auckland
HOW I can HELP
I am an experienced registered psychotherapist offering in-person psychotherapy in Albany and Greenhithe, Auckland and online across Aotearoa New Zealand.
You may be feeling anxious, lonely, depressed, emotionally overwhelmed, or life might not be turning out as you had hoped. Perhaps your relationships are troubling you, you're feeling isolated, relying on substances, or you don't feel like you belong. Many people come to therapy wanting to make sense of their inner world. emotional struggles and life experiences.
Psychotherapy is a unique space where you can talk openly about thoughts and feelings in ways that aren’t always possible in everyday relationships. We work together to understand your experiences, recognise unconscious patterns, deepen self-awareness, and translate insights into meaningful change.
Part of my work focuses on how your relationships may be impacting you. I have extensive experience working with adults in intimate relationships that are eroding their confidence and sense of self. I help individuals to understand subtle, confusing and unhealthy repetitive relational patterns.
Relationships shape us from childhood and continue to influence us into adulthood; the same can be true of the therapeutic relationship.
MY APPROACH
My approach is integrative and grounded in relational/psychodynamic and CBT/DBT techniques. In simple terms this means I explore how early relationships, thoughts, feelings, and environments shape how people relate to themselves and others.
My clinical experience includes supporting adults with complex trauma histories, relationship difficulties, emotional and psychological distress, and addiction. My work in specialist addiction treatment has given me experience working alongside people with layered histories, supporting them to explore the deeper emotional, relational, and life experiences underlying addictive behaviours.
Alongside my clinical work, I continue to engage in professional development and clinical supervision to ensure my practice remains thoughtful, ethical, and responsive.
I provide an inclusive, and non-judgemental space where all identities, cultures and orientations are respected and welcomed.
